North American Basque Organizations (NABO) is proud to offer Euskara (Basque) language classes for adults both in person—through our various Euskal Etxeak (Basque clubs)—and online.
Our classes are open to all adults: Basque club members, non-affiliated Basques, and the general public as well.
Our goal is to share, spread, and sustain our language in North America, so take your first step toward learning Euskara today!

Why learn Euskara?
Many of our students learn to honor their roots, engage in their culture, and to strengthen relationships with friends and family. Some have Basque origins, some don’t. Some students are curious to learn the only known language isolate in all of Europe. Others learn for their partner, children, or parents.
One thing is for certain, Euskara is a language worth learning and, most importantly, worth speaking. In the words of Oskorri, “Ez al dakizu Euskara dela Euskaldun egiten gaituena.”

Where do we teach?
NABO Euskara aims to first support NABO member organizations put on in-person Euskara classes in the communities tailored to their needs and goals.
As not every Euskara learner lives near a Basque community, NABO Euskara facilitates synchronous online language classes to connect remote learners with our online community.

What do we teach?
NABO Euskara offers live, online beginner-level Basque language classes in the fall, spring, and summer. Class offerings depend on instructor availability.
Our classes follow a Basque-language curriculum developed and taught in the Basque Country.
